PRESS RELEASE:

LabVantage is Selected by Global Leader in Tooling and Wear Solutions

Somerset, NJ – January 5, 2017 – LabVantage Solutions, a global leader in laboratory informatics, announces that they have been selected to replace an existing, custom Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) at Kennametal Inc.’s Quentin C. McKenna Technology Center in Latrobe, Pennsylvania.  A global industrial technology leader, Kennametal delivers productivity to customers seeking peak performance in demanding environments by providing innovative custom and standard wear-resistant solutions. The company employs more than 12,000 team members worldwide and generated nearly $2.1 billion in revenues last year.

Kennametal’s technology organization was in search of a way to increase productivity through its analytical laboratories by upgrading an aging LIMS with a newer, more streamlined LIMS offering a range of services.  Some of the features that attracted Kennametal to upgrade to LIMS with LabVantage were sample status tracking, resource management, easy results entry, instrument integration, data validation, recordkeeping, ad-hoc querying, and reporting capabilities.

“When looking to update our laboratory information management system, we knew we needed a product that would drive process improvements and data management,” said Binky Sargent, manager of materials analysis and metrology at Kennametal. “LabVantage’s ability to provide an integrated LIMS with enhanced features made the selection of their product the clear choice.”

LabVantage provides a scalable solution which can grow with the organization’s needs. With the implementation of LabVantage, Kennametal will now be able to run workload analytics and enhance global access to results, eliminating paper entries and automating other processes. The ability to integrate instruments with LabVantage will save time and increase their ROI.

“We are proud to be the selected vendor for this mission-critical LIMS implementation and look forward to supporting Kennametal’s need for increased productivity in the lab.” said Terry Smallmon, Director of Sales at LabVantage.
